Back in Portland!!!

Well, I got trained in Florida, visited dear friends and supporters in Chicago, IL; Columbus, OH; and Omaha, NE and now I am back in Portland.

It is amazing to me that my job right now is to find people to partner with me financially and prayerfully in this minsitry so that I can return to Western Europe soon. And because I love connecting with people and I love where God has me in ministry... I am excited about this! Here is a photo of all the new staff praying before we departed ways and began raising support. We are trusting the Lord to do big things!


So...if you are in the Portland area... Lets talk! :-) I also plan to get up to the Seattle area and to California where I have current ministry partners and hope to find others. Pray for me!

Guarding your heart

So I was having this discussion with a good friend of mine...

What does it really mean to guard your heart when it comes to love and relationships?

Proverbs 4:23 says, "Above all else guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life." (in context-a proverb about pursuing wisdom and why pursuing wisdom is so beneficial)

I think that I used to believe that guarding my heart meant putting a big iron gate around it and only those people with the right key could get in.

I think that now I believe that guarding my heart means when God tells me to go no further in a relationship, He means it. That is a concise meaning I realize... What do you all think? email me or post a comment. I am curious. :-) Yes Tiana... I said it... I am curious. :-)

It is official!!!!

I am, today, officially campus crusade for Christ staff. Now I am trusting the Lord to put together my team of ministry partners so that I can quickly get back to Western Europe. Oh...my heart longs for that day!

Florida Tornados

If you have been watching the news today you probably saw something about the tornado that hit Orlando/Daytona Beach late last night. Click on the title of this post to read about it.

It did hit in the area that I am in for new staff training (Volusia County). We all knew that there was an intense thunder and lightning storm but it was only this morning that w knew of the deep damage that hit this area. They count 15 dead and over 500 homes damaged. makes me wonder if the northwest part of the states knows what happened. We can be so far removed from each other can't we?

Anyway, we are all okay here. Just wanted to make sure you all know that. :-)
