A taste of the "To Pray" tab

Here is a glimpse of how I put prayer requests on the "To Pray" tab.

One of today's updates:
2. 25. March 2012-Please pray that God will direct me (and those others looking) to the best housing for me. My books, kitchen stuff and clothing arrive to Birmingham in 1-2 weeks from today.

  • Walking distance to the University, train stations and grocery stores.
  • A place with a kitchen and living room that are conducive to hosting and blessing others with good food.
  • Spaces for growing plants, flowers, herbs.
  • LIGHT. I am asking the Lord to provide a place with good lighting via windows and/or well placed lamps.
Your Partnership in prayer with me, is so vital. Please keep praying with me and for me.

the way God provides

As I began the drive up through Rome, Italy to Kandern, Germany, I was praying, "Lord, I do not know what you are going to do or how you are going to take care of the situation with my car, but I am trusting you."

I knew that I had friends moving to Northern Germany who were interested in buying the car.
I knew that I needed to take my car to my mechanic to get the bumper replaced.
I knew I would need to take the train back to Italy.

By the third day, Everything was worked out for how my friends could actually get the car, things were worked out with my mechanic, a couple in Kandern who I don't personally know yet is helping out tons, and I got good time with more dear people than I thought I would be able to have time with!

God is good. I just feel like He heaped blessings of his provision and care on me for this trip.

I have begun the process of saying "ci vediamo" to my friends. Not "goodbye" but "see you later". I am thankful that staying in Europe means I get to see them again. Not as often as I have this past year and a half.. but again.

I took the train back to Italy and stopped in Florence to see dear friends. I was blessed to join some of the staff women in their Bible study time at Mama's Bakery. A delightful cafe with real bagels in the heart of Florence. :-)

God is good!

Rome to Kandern again

This afternoon I am driving up to Kandern, Germany. The Italian government won't let my Italian staff friends transfer the ownership of the car, so I need to take it back to Germany.

As I drive up, spend some time and train back, I am asking the Lord to refresh and renew my spirit. This transition time has taken a lot out of me and I am ready refreshment!

Spring Break Week

One of the campuses students went to this week is this faculty of Economia (Economics).

They met hundreds of students on 6 faculties of the 3 main universities like these two girls. The Gospel was shared many times.

We spent time this morning celebrating what God did this past week on the campuses and in the lives of the American students. In a circle we sat and were blessed to hear things like, "the first day talking to students was a heartbreak like I have never before experienced."

As staff we prayed that God would give these American university students a passion and vision to share the gospel with italians and with their campus back home.

It is so fun to see God working in the lives of American university students to share the gospel in Italy.

Jesus died for our sins once and for all

Today I went with some of the Ole Miss students to meet a student named Lawrence. He is convinced that Jesus died for our sins... But only the sins that occurred before He died. Oh how my heart breaks...but how much more the Lord's heart breaks when people don't believe truth!

So it begins

This morning, our staff met the 53 students and staff who are spending their spring break joining us for ministry in Rome. They are mostly from the south and south eastern parts of the United states. Today and tomorrow we take them to get to know the city. Monday we take them onto the university campuses. Please pray that we would see these students catch a vision for what God wants to do in Rome. And pray that we will see momentum of Italian students wanting to know Jesus.

Luke 21

I was reading my Bible today and was struck by Luke 21:14-15 and vs. 19. "But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves. 15 For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict."

In this passage of Luke, Jesus is teaching His disciples about what to expect in the future. So much of what He says here is applicable to today, but as I pondered it in light of where God has placed me, it took on a deeper meaning.

One of the things we battle here in Europe is a fear of our own inadequacy to give an answer to anyone who asks about this hope we have in Jesus Christ. It is irrational to have this fear, but most of us experience it on some level as we go out into the city.

Here Jesus says, "Make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves." Instead we are to trust that He will give us words and wisdom.

That is some mighty power to rest in!
