XTrack

A photo of the beauty I see around me. I am amazed at the colour schemes God puts together!

Whew... it has been awhile since I posted... I have been busy learning all about how to live healthily in a culture that is not my native culture. Along the way I have made new friends, deepened other friendships, missed friends, felt alone, loved the group I am with... yeah... the whole gamut of emotions. God is still good and He is still faithful!
I've practiced my German with the help of Maria.

I have studied and hung out with really great people... here are some of them... Claudia-from Germany who has been and will continue to work in London...and Beth Ann who is going to work in Rome

My friend Daire from Estonia is in the states and she came out to Ft. Collins to visit! It was so fun to see her!

One evening we all went up to Horsetooth reservoir and ate, enjoyed each other's company and sang and played. Here is dear Shannon and I and Michael.

This past weekend I went hiking on Saturday and white water rafting on Sunday... photos to follow....

I am weary but enjoying my time here.

I stand amazed!

yesterday I was doing a lesson from my New Testament Survey class.... the professor made a statement to the effect that each of us will remember forever our spiritual parent. He went on to explain that we each know and treasure that person who helped us take that step of faith to trust the Lord with our hearts and lives.

I realized that what I know deep in the very fiber of my being is that Christ, Himself, wooed me.
When I was seven years old and I was roller-skating home from a friends house... Christ called me to himself and showed me that I had not asked Him to be Lord of my life. I was so overwhelmed with the need to respond so I stopped on the sidewalk and asked Jesus into my heart and then completed my trip home. He called me!

When my biological father left, it was God who pulled me into his arms and reminded me that I am His child. I have an amazing Father!!!! He wooed me!

Every step of my life I know that it is God who has called me from one relationship to the next, from one job to the next, from one country to the next.

And I feel almost giddy with the realization again that God has been intimately involved in my life since the moment I was born as he called me to Himself!

On the Road again...

" On the road again
Just can't wait to get on the road again
The life I love is makin' music with my friends
And I can't wait to get on the road again
On the road again
Goin' places that I've never been
Seein' things that I may never see again,
And I can't wait to get on the road again."

This is the song that has been running through my head the past three days as I, and my friend Jenny headed from Portland, Oregon to Ft. Collins, Colorado... via Boise, Idaho and Salt Lake City, Utah.

And then once in a while I would look out the window and this other song would go running through my head... and I would hum... or even sing a few lines....

" Home, home on the range
Where the deer and the antelope play
Where seldom is heard a discouraging word
And the skies are not cloudy all day"

because.. yes... I saw antelope.

I love the vast expanses, and the forested hills, and the majestic mountains, and the winding streams. God is amazing! No one on earth could ever be as much of a creative genius as my God!
So now, here I am in Fort Collins, Colorado. I have a couple days before my training starts...
