I don't think it makes us into what we think of God...more like the stuff I think (i.e. the pictures I have of God) those are the things that are important to me, or those ar the things that I think about a lot ( they are close to my heart) or maybe those are the things I struggle with? Maybe it can be said that our thoughts of who God is are the morst important things about us because of the great power those thoughts have in our lives. If my first thought of God is "distant", then I feel alone and I doubt his presence and involvement in my life. If my first thought of God is "He is good and he is loving" then I have peace... It seems that our perception of who God is greatly impacts us - our feelings about life, ourselves, other people. Wow I could go on for hours! This is a great discussion! :)
I agree with you Kendra...good thoughts...what we think of God is the most important thing. I have just started to read Knowing God. Never really got throught that book before...now I think I should.
